Coaches can only do so much...they can make the opportunites to lift available, but they can't make the players participate. Plus, at least here in BSG, parents seem to know more than the coaching staff.

I played football for GC a little while back and I can assure you that we had off season workouts, we didn't start until after Christmas break because you do need a little time to get healthy after a long season. During spring sports if you didn't play baseball it was mandatory that you ran track to keep in shape. In the summer it was up to the Seniors to get everybody there and it was just understood that you have to show up. Now I don't know how things are being done there now, but I would hope they are still using the same regiment (sp?)
